Hello all,
Our 485 was approved last week. EB3, PD-Nov98, ND-Oct99, FP-Sep00, RFE-0301, Approved June01.

Could any of you please post the philly INS stamping experience, like when to reach there and any other tips which will make things easy.

Also can any of the gurus guide me as to when can I put in my resignation :-)
The lawyer says you have to stick with the company for 3 months, is this true? I have a good offer at hand and don\'t want to lose it. I am in a dilemma now.

I would really appreciate if anyone can guide me on this one.

Lawyer is right! 3 months at least. One year preferably.
If your company decides to let you go, then it is another story. Can you arrange something with your company to show this?

Get the stamp on your passport asap.
As long as the new job is in a similar position in the same industry,
I don\'t think you have anything to worry about.

Actually once you get the stamp even if you go and sell pizzas I don\'t thinkthe INS will care. But in any case refer to a good lawyer.

Passport stamping was Ivery easy. I did it last Friday.
I got in Philly @ 7:30 AM. There were 70 people in front of me. When I got to the counter I given the number 4. It seems like not everybody goes for passport stamping.
The IIO was very very nice. The whole process took only 5 mn, At 8:40 I was back to work.

I am also waiting to switch to a new job, but I am affraid to do it. Is it true that I can switch and not have problem with INS later when I want to become a citizen.
By the way how does INS know that I switch company?

I thought that due to the AC-21 guidelines, if a person can leave after 180 days from 485 ND, why can he not leave after the actual approval. Because if the new employment is in the same job description, then it should fall under these guidelines.
If the AC-21 rules apply, I have a few doubts.
What would happen if you want to go as an independent contractor? Would it still be considered the same job category?

Also if someone could guide me as to what should be carried along while you go for the stamping, it would be great.

We (my wife and I) got our passports stamped in Philly on May 18th. We were there at 7:00 am. Were called to the window at 8:50. Both I and my wife got our passports stamped and were out of there by 9:10. The actual process took barely 5mts. The officer was on the phone the other 15mts.

The only documents we took were the actual approval notice sent to the lawyer, our passports with all the I-94s, and 2 photographs. They didn\'t ask for the EADs or the advance parole documents or anything else. They took our finger print and signatures for the I-89,stamped our passports and that was that.
