My wife has done her 4 years Bachelors in Pharmcy from India. Can she become a nurse without having to go to college here and just appearing to the RN exam?
Nursing in US is extremely competitive to get in. With a B'Pharm from India you will need to get your degree evaluated for course equivalency. You best bet is to apply for accelerated BSN programs which are only 1-1.5 yrs long but once again are difficult to get in. Normally the requirements to get in are coursework in the following subjets.
3 English
1 Chemistry with Lab
2 Anatomy & Physiology Classes
1 Medical Microbiology class
1 Pharmacology class (Your wife should be fine here)
1 Nutrition class
1 Statistics class
2 Psychology Classes (Including Lifespan & Development)
1 Speech Class
1 Humanity class.
other reqts may vary by school.
No nursing school will let you take individual NURSING classes without being enrolled in either an ADN or BSN program.
