Petitioner documents with form DS230

Hi all,

I am all set to send the DS230 but have a concern. It says I need to submit marriage certificate from all previous marriages. I was married before but I don't have a marriage certificate,just a divorce decree. Like most indian weddings,my previous marriage was never registered and now since we are divorced for 9 years and I am remarried,of course there is no way of getting one. I called the NVC and the lady said just attach a letter explaining the same.

My concern: is this going to be a big deal? I can attach the divorce decree but she said that is not needed. What if I don't send any letter,just my current marriage certificate? Anybody had any experience like this? Please share and help. Everything was going smoothly till now and now this small hitch is bothering me so much.

I am sorry I do not have knowlege about your issue. But I would like help. My father 1-130 approved last friday and waiting for next steps. Would you help me out what will be next steps and which forms need to fill out and what documents, I need to get from India(My father) and here.

My father do not have birth certificate or any evidance for school because he never been in school. Do you have that issue with your parent ? if yes then what documents you got ?
