Petition for Spouse

I am a US citizen and would like to petition for my spouse who lives outside of India. Please help me step by step the process and procedure as to how I can file for the petition. Also, since the spouse lives outside of US, how will the spouse be informed that the application is approved and will there be a interview and where and what kind of visa will be issued so the spouse can come here.

As you can tell, I have no idea about how to petition for the spouse. This is my first time. All your help will be greatly appreciated.

Bubble12, It is very easy but lots of forms and documents and effort and waiting. Most of the users in this petition for their spouses all the time.
