Hi guys,
I need your help please.
I became US citizen and filed I-130 for my mother. The petition was approved recently. And soon I will need to proceed to Affidavit of support I-864. As I am currently unemployed and only receive Unemployment benefits, I want to use my brother' s salary as a household member.
The thing is my brother came to US in August of last year and started working in about December of last year. So his total income tax for last year is only about $900. And he doesn't have taxes for the past 3 years. But he is still working right now and making enough money to help me meet the requirements.
Can I use him or it is impossible due the fact that he doesn't have taxes for the past 3 years, as they asking in the form I-864A?
Please HELP!!!

Hi Zurik,
The intending sponsor as household member should be able to establish continued support even after becoming a permanent resident. Previous taxes and financial status is not important. Promise for same amount of support should continue. Proof of assets of your brother should be added advantage to approve the application.Good luck!

Thank you Nancy Mervin
My household member doesn't have any assets, only his job where he worked for 6 month. And how can I let the immigration know that he doesn't have taxes for the last 3 years because he came to US only last year? Should I include the letter explaining it or send a copy of his green card.
And also on the form I-864A there is a question 11: Federal income tax info. And the first box states: I have filed taxes for the last 3 years. I have attached the copy or transcript of my tax return only for the most recent year. In my situation according to first part of that question I do not need to check the box; but according to second I need to check that box. (because I will attach the tax transcript for the last year). What should I do?
