Permanent Residency Extended for one year before Biomentrics

Hi all,

Not sure if I am posting in the correct place, but here it goes anyway.

I have been a permanent resident since Oct of 2007, I had to have restrictions lifted this year, I sent of my forms and got a letter saying they had recieved and that my residency had been extended for one year, to wait for my biometrics appointment. I got the appointment about 1 week later and have since been and had those done, no other news or letters.

Has anyone had this experience? Do I simply wait for a new green card (one I have expires at end of this month)? I have no appointments scheduled for interviews, so i am under the assumption all our supporting documents fitted the criteria.
Or is it that they are simply that backlogged I have to wait a year?

Thanks for any input anyone has

Yup.....just wait......even though your card is expiring, your status is still valid as it got extended for a year.

I was hoping that, I'm just hoping an interview like the first time is not needed as that was a horribly emotional experience!!

Fingers crossed a new card arrives :)

Ty for responding

Yes, it was filed Jointly, we'll be married 4 years this coming January!

10% ... thats great odds and makes me even more hopeful, a 10 year GC will be a blessing, give me time to decide if I want to do citizenship or not

Thanks so much

I have not been a resident for 3 years yet, i believe that is the stipulation on that but not certain, and I still have to decide if I want to or not and financially its not viable right now, we are expecting our second child so ... well if you have kids you know how expensive they can be!

Update.

Got my approval letter Sat 17th Oct, and in unmarked envelope with it was my 10 Year Green card!

I applied for restrictions to be removed early August, didn't take too long!
