Permanent Address while CP Process is on

Hello Folks,

Just as many others post some of their unique situations I wanted to know if anyone has ever been in the following situation and if so what did they do about it. If no one has, all suggestions are welcome.
I have filed for CP through a firm based in Missouri, and case has been sent to an indian consulate now. I have been residing in Texas for a longtime to work at client sites for my company. Now I have entered the Texas address on the DS-230, will that cause any problems for me. Do I have to move to Missouri state and have the Consulate in India update my DS-230 form?
Also, where does the consulate send you the P4 (and I don't know what P4 is either) or the notification about interview? do they send it to your US address? Please help. thanx
 
My case is similar to yours..i don't think that would be a problem.
Company is in Missouri and you are working for that company and client is in Texas.

Same as mine.. Just take updated DS230Part1 with you when you go for the int..
 
Hi Grincard,

I am also in the same boat and in my understanding the consulate will send the Packet 4 to the permanent address mentioned in the DS -230 Part1. I think senior forum members who went through the process can clarify.

However following this forum I understood the consulates post the case numbers for the coming months in their websites. I think you can call the consulate if you want the Packet 4 sent to your local address in India.

I've been led to believe, that the job is in Missouri, the labor has been approved for a job in Missouri, hence you have to reside in Missouri. I don't think I'm convinced with that.

I believe it depends what is stated on Labour Certification. In my case it states various client sites in US.

What address did you have on DS 230 I? Missouri or Texas?

yes it was after sending the packet 3.. we got the packet4 mailed to india (just send a fax to consulate and it works) .. when we went for the interview carried the updated DS230 and replaced the old one.. hope this helps!!
 
After my I 140 approval, my address got changed and my lawyer adviced me that it can be taken care when we send back the packet 3.

Will the packet 4 be sent to address in ds 230 part1? or should I call the operator and notify the address change?

I would appreciate your thoughts on this.

Yes thats what i did .. call NVC as well and update their records but they cannot update already filled DS230-I so advised to take the updated copy when you go for the interview..
