How does PERM impact physicians who have done residency here. What is the likelihood of them getting PERM approved. What job category would they be. Any PERM approvals for physicians so far.
Thanks

For Physician PERM is undisputable choice compare to computer programmers.

Putting advt in Sunday news papers, Journels (must) , Job orders must be done meticulously with in 6 months period.

Main thing is prevailing wages, most of the cases prevailing wages comes to too high to scare any sponser willing to sponer GC.

If your sponser is good and have good attorney you will get your approval 4-6 weeks. Period.

There is a rumour that EB2 is also get retrogressed soon. Even if you start your PERM process, you are going to file PERM only Dec 2005, by the time it get approval, EB2 may go back to 2 to 3 years from Current. So instead of waiting for LC you will wait in the I 485 Q for longer time.

Thanks. So basically for doctors ther is no way but PERM. I am however not clear about waiting in line for 1485. My understanding is that under PERM not many cases are being approved. If that is true then the queue is not going to be long. As you stated someone also told me that basically wiith PERM the salary is so high that sponsors get scared which makes less people getting PERM approval and hence less number applying for GC. Am not sure if that is true.
Are there any othe options other than PERM .I do not want to go the NIW way. Have already done my J-1 waiver by going to my home country for two years.
Thanks

Do not confuse with your I 140/ I 485 with PERM.

Though PERM may get approved with in 2 months after filing, waiting period for I 485 no way get reduced. Already too much backlog in EB2 in I 485, also expecting retrogression further in coming year.

PERM is initial LC releif only, utimate painful wait is no way going to go away.

Thanks
