Perm & Experience letter

Hi,

My firm’s (CPA firm) attorney is preparing to file my perm. They called me today and asked me to provide the experience letter from previous employer. I faxed them the appointment letter, but these guys say that appointment letter are not accepted by CIS . CIS needs experience letter from prior employer.

I have problem in getting that as I worked for a firm in India ( CA firm) and they had sent me on L1 to US . In-between my secondment , I got a job with my present US firm and resigned . The HR in India was very pissed off with me and did not pay me my 2 months salary. Basically, they were not happy.

I think some one might had been in similar situation. Can someone advice what they had done. Mean while my attorney is looking for some alternative. The problem is my firm is big and they hired this big law firm and these guys’s are not at all flexible.

Please advice.

Thanks

They are right. Appointment letter is no use. You need the letter that states everything you work include date, skill set...
Look for your previous direct manager to sign such letter. If not, look for your co-worker who worked with you for a long time in the previous company to sign the letter.
If none of those, forget that experiences since you will have problem in I140 (not Perm)
