My H1-B is expiring on June 2007, but I'm waiting for the approval of my I-485 and I already have a approved EAD. My lawyer advise me to renew H1-B so I wont be out of status while waiting for the approval of my I-485.
Is there any implication for applying H1-B renewal on my I-485 application since I already have an EAD approved? pls. advise If its ok for me to proceed with my H1-B renewal

It is perfecty fine for you to file for H-1 extension, actually you should be doing it as it will give me more safety. Incase the 485 gets rejected you are still in status.

thanks endretro. I actually talked to an agent from CIS customer service this afternoon and asked him about my situation and he told me that I dont need to and it might create confusion with my approved EAD. And he mentioned that incase my lawyer already filed for my H1 extension it will be return back by the CIS. I'm not sure if that's really is the policy and I know sometimes some agents in customer service makes mistakes. But if there's no grave implication then its better to be in the safe side.

-------------CIS customer service agent is not lawyer, dont belive him/her. H1 extension is NOT going to create any confusion with pending I-485 or EAD

And he mentioned that incase my lawyer already filed for my H1 extension it will be return back by the CIS.
-----------why it will be returned? wrong info. if your lawyer/employer file the H1 extension before I-94 expiry date you are ok

---- better file H1 extension Before I-94 expires. H1 has advantages

----------------you wont be out of status as you have I-485 pending, it is better for you if you file H1 extension now or petition must reach USCIS before I-94 gets expired (one can file H1 extension 6 months advance of H1 expiry)
Is there any implication for applying H1-B renewal on my I-485 application since I already have an EAD approved?
pls. advise If its ok for me to proceed with my H1-B renewal

-----------your employer can file H1 extension for you.
