Just wondering do I have to renew my work permit since they approved my I-140 and I-485 is pending for more than a year. My work permit will expire on April 25 2005. Thanks for ur help.

If you're indepedently wealthy, no. But if you want to work, you need some form of work authorization.

Yes you must renew and do it now. You can not work without work authorization. If they don't approve your new EAD fast you can not work until it's approved. You can't get an interim EAD either until 90 days have passed since the USCIS receives the renewal.

Current USCIS requires the authorization documeent to be submitted 6 months prior to your expiration date. However, it doesn't not harm filing lately. I would strongly suggest to send the renewal ASAP as your EAD expires in April.

I renewed my EAD lately and please see below for details:

NSC:
EAD / AP : RD : 02/15/05
LUD Online status (message : ordered a new card) : 03/26/2005
LUD online status (message : card was mailed) : 03/31/2005
