Pending asylum cases at asylum offices for months,years......

Please this thread is for those who have their asylum cases pending and not for those waiting for interviews or fingerprints but you guys can still post questions so others who did pass those steps can share their experiences.For those with pending cases ,please share your everyday experience during this wait period.

For my case ,am still on status (f-1) and my case is almost more than 1 year pending at the chicago office .Its really painful to wait this long ,I know some people have waited even more than this but each person has his/her own way of seeing this.What is more disturbing is that my receipt number with ZCH****** cannot be checked on the usics website.I saw most people waiting for their decisions came approximately 1 year ,so am hoping mine will come too by that time.

1. It is not possible to check the status of asylum application online. This is not only on your case. You will see change only when the case is approved and the work authorization card is ordered for production. So relax, it is not only your case.
2. I wait more than 2 years to get my application get approved and I was also on F1 during the pending period. I advise you to focus on your education and the decision will surprise you on one unexpected day.
3. Pray to God always and try to forget the application at all

I'm Waiting the decision 11 month

and I don' have any idea for how long it take my two friends received there decisions 3 months and the other on 5 month all of us came to US by B-1 visa and now i'm out of status now .

Thanks a lot talfam ,I really do appreciate your answers and support because you know how tough it is to be in f-1 status and having such an application pending for a long time.Atleast you were at that point and you know how hard it is ,thanks for the comments.One more thing ,during your wait period ,did you send any inquiry letter to the office which handles your case or you just sat like that waiting like me

Hi mok2013 ,I know how frustating it is for you since you are even now out of status ,please just keep up!!! atleast we have work permit so we can atleast work.Lets just be waiting ,hope your decision will come very soon before the 13month.Lets keeps praying and waiting for a good decision.Good luck

pepsico, I sent many letters and I always got the same reply, 'you case is pending required background and security check'. I finally gave up and stopped sending those letters as I expected what the reply will be.
