If one were in USA on F1 and had to discontinue the studies and go back to India due to health reasons. In doing so he/she was not able to pay of his credit card bills. Now his/her company in India is ready to apply for his H1-B. Will he/she have any problem, if his/her company does apply for a H1-B or a L1 ? If he/she does get his/her visa, will he/she have any problem upon entering into the US? All replies appreciated. Expert advice requested.

I don't think you need expert advice. Not paying your credit card bills will ruin your credit report/ credit score. It's as simple as that. Initially it will have no relation with your work visa application unless the credit card company has filed criminal charges against you. I suggest you collect all the evidence of your sick bed, pick up the phone and contact the credit card company. Discuss your situation and ask them to work on a solution.

Criminal charges by a credit card company for non payment of bills? Not a possibility (what will happen to all those bankruptsy cases ?). Credit card companies are restricted by several state and federal laws. Their first recourse is generally to try and get their money back, second step is to sell your account to a collection agency with whom you can negotiate the final amount to less than half the total amount owed. Once you are back in US find out the collection agency, pay the final negotiated amount than inform the credit rating agencies that you have paid off the debt. Obviously you have a bad credit history now so it will be better to open account in a lesser known credit union to begin with. Good luck with telephone/mobile/utility people who all will check your credit history but will give you service for a deposit because of you bad credit. There are number of online help sites and most of the above comes from them. Remember as long as you have a paycheck coming you get things done in this country.
