Hi Guys,
All of Us keep hearing and talking about the freedom after 485 approval and having a GC in hand.
Lets for a minute think that we are in that situation and list out what we would do if we had it( I mean the GC).
I have listed what i would do ..hope others can join in and give it some insight.

1.I would peacefully visit India for a couple of months.
2.Not be tensed with the IT market situation cos i would be able to take up any kind of job in the worst situation.
3.I would actively persue my enterpruneral spirits.
4.Be assured that i need not leave after 6 yrs and after having property here.

Other than the above i dont see any other adavntages in the short term.

Any takers for this kind of a discussion......?

GC is

a big thing in my life

I do agree that the sun will shine the same/the birds will also sing the same / and the flowers will bloom the same.

But it will make a big big big difference in my life.

I do not wish to enumarate and quantify the difference it will make.
I can only repeat

Yes - It will make a big/big/big difference in my life.

I think GC bestows all the benefits of citizenship except

voting rights and working for the government.
Although you could still be deported as a GC holder.

Now do not ask me the benefits of being a US citizen.

One of the advantages is ....

Not having to wait in queue any more,
At the airport, at the consulate, at the INS center etc ...

My cholesterol(stress level) level will go down, and

I\'m going celebrate my \'2002\'as 1947 of my life.
Its freedom friends, which is most important. Though nothing else will change, land air,sea and even client remains the same, but central nervous system will relax and enjoy.
 Thats just mine feeling.
Greaty-k

I have heard that India was considering dual citizenship

but did not care to read any more about this.

We are 5 years away from this possibility and so I do not wish to go deep into the dual citizenship aspect.
