After I prepared all the documents for I-485, I found such an ugly fact:

In my I-140 approval notice, it clearly states "We have sent it to NVC for consular processing". My damn lawyer, he still checked "Consular Processing" when he filed my i-140, even though I told him I want I-485 instead of CP.

But I really don\'t want to go for CP. Can I still have the choice to file I-485 directly? Or I have to do a I-140 amendment, and waiting for its approval, then file I-485? or I have to refile the I-140?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot!

you are OK!!!

if i140 is filed for CP then you can do CP or 485 without any
more documentation.
If you filed i140 filed for 485 then you will have to file
i-824 for CP.

But why don\'t you go for CP???

I heard they hardly ask anything during the CP interview.
That just my humble opinion.
