Can someone please tell me the procedure of geting PCC from Consulate in NY. Where would I find all the related information.
 
If you are some where near to NYC, i.e, in NJ, just walk in with following docs!!

1. Download Misc. form from CGNY site and fill it up.
2. Fee $ 20 for each applicant
3. Attach one photo of each applicant.
4. Carry a copy of each passport( Carry original also, just they will check and give you back).

They will issue PCC after 45 days( sometimes you get it in 10days)

So is PCC only required for CP or for AOS also. As one of my freind has selected AOS and should she also get PCC
 
No I don\'t think she needs the PCC

Based on my friend\'s experience who is going through the AOS process - she doesn\'t need a PCC. But better make sure with ur lawyers.

PCC validity

I want to know for how long is the PCC valid. If my interview is not till several months from now and if I got my PCC processed now for how long will that be valid.
 
Validity of PCC is for 6 months and for AOS you do not need PCC( Better to check up with her attorne

I applied for my PCC way back in Dec.. and got a call from the consulate that its ready.. Now, since its valid for 6 months only, can I collect it somewhere in April end - expecting an interview in July/August but spouse leaving for India April end ? What would the issuance date on that PCC be ? December or April ?

Can some gurus who have collected the PCC help me ?

   The PCC will have the date when it was ready hence you will have the December date not April.

I applied for PCC on 2/8/02, I got a call from CGNY around 2/18/02 saying it is ready. But I went CGNY on 3/13/02. The date on PCC is 3/13/02. So I believe you should get April date on your PCC, because they prepare it after you submit your passport..

You dont have to.. You can send in your application and state in a cover letter that you will come in personally (or send in passports by mail) AFTER the PCC is approved..

I guess if you have sent in the passports earlier, they will issue the PCC as soon as it is cleared, otherwise issue it when you go in with your passports.

Is Indian consulate PCC sufficient

I am under the impression that a pcc is required from all cities we have lived in (more than 6 months) in US or else where. Does that mean that after getting the PCC from the Indian consulate we still need one from each city where we have lived in the US. How to go about that ?

my spouse and I sent our passports for PCC to CGNY 2 weeks ago. Both our passports have been issued in the US so they should be done in a couple of days - however we still haven\'t recd them. WE have interview on May 22. What should we do?
 
PCC FYI

My spouse and I had sent passports to CGNY for PCC. My passport was issued in US at CGNY so apparently the processing time is just 2 days. However, for my spouse even though the passport was issued in US (D.C) it takes 45 days for clearance. Just thought I would let people know.
