Guys and Gals,

what is the worst case scenario for all the persons who are appearing or JAN interview Delhi (say before 20 Jan 2002)and Bombay consulate.

As it is not possible to get the PCC by that time.

1. I have heard we you go to interview for green card they will cancel your current H1B.

2. and what if they do not issue green card document due to lack of PCC?

what will happen?? will be just struck there without any solutions!

Questions:

1.Guys think hard and plan a escape route.Talk to your lawyers.

and let everyone know.what They suggest.

2. What do you guys feel.should weeks embassy to postpone our IV interview?? do they entertain such requests??? what is the process for it???

Guys..I do not think we can take any chances! as without H1 we can not come back to USA. Indian passport office will not issue us PCC as they will ask us to go to consulate in USA.

3.If we apply to Indian consulate in USA before leaving USA. and ask the to write to RPO in India.??? can we get our PCC India then! as what i have read on this web site is that Indian RPO need a request that should be initiated by Conslate in USA???

Any thoughts or suggestion guy!
 
Solution for PCC

If you are in US, you can collect local PCC from nearest police station. It is very simple and I got it in less than a week. They will give you some " CRIMINAL HISTORY VERIFICATION FORM", you need to fill it up and get it notarised( from ur bank or nearest mail box etc. (MBE) ) and that all. They will mail it to your address very immediately.
While in India it is a matter of another 1 or 2 days. Go to SP office and meet his writer. I have heard that, SP office staff is very reasonable and you know how things work in India.
I am sure this is all abour PCC.
 
Sanjoo28, they already have all your background in US from FBI. So stop giving ideas about local pCC

Worry about PCC from India.

That is true.
They do have all tax info from IRS, but we still need tax transcripts and sailing permit. Also, at the same time they have all your info for PCC as they have to gather all of your info from local passport office before stamping H1 and they still need PCC.
It was an advice and to help out other fellows for PCC.
I am sure it will help.

Moreso u r absolutely correct about the Superintendent of Police office stuff in India, i dunno about how it works here in US , though it should be hassle free.
In india one can get it done throught the administrative staff at SP\'s office...Thanks

I got it done here for self and my wife and it was very easy. Go to nearest with your passport and SS card and fill out one form and get your segnatures notarised and that all from your end.

PCC from local authority and PCC from SP office is OK and is acceptable as per my attroney. Infact, passport offices also verify your records from SP office. This approach will save lot of time and is very reliable and unquestionable.
 
Stop doing unnecessary things

People PC is not required for the CP process if you have only lived in the US and India after the age of 16. So stop doing unnecessary things and spreading rumors.

This PCC thing is for real. My dad confirmed with Mumbai consulate in person today.

It is true that they can ask for it. But there is no official notification for the same. It is better to be prepared. Believe me, it is really NOT a big hurdle to get it.
So, Please be safe and get it now.
 
Even I was a non-believer in this whole PCC thing...

but my parents in Mumbai have recd the P4 for my Jan interview and it clearly states that PCC is reqd. Please refer my other posting in this forum for details.

It may be the case for mumbai. I completed my CP in chennai in september and PC was not required. I don\'t know the requirements for mumbai.
 
anand72: The PCC reqmt starts only with Jan CPers, since...

you did your CP in Sept it didn\'t matter then. PCC is not reqd even of Dec CPers.

Just goto your local police station, they will take your drivers license and $ 10,

They will issue PCC and they will give U 3 Original copies with seal on each of them.

That what myself and spouse did.
