My I-140 approved last week at TSC. I spend 10 month working in Malaysia. Please let me know when would be good time to get PCC from Malaysia and how to get it being here in USA.

I could find any website for malaysian embassy. Please help.

I would really appreciate Gururs answers.

Thanks, but

I thought PCC used to issued by embassy/consulate. Any idea how to contact local malaysian police?

If that is the case then i twould not be an easy job to contact local malaysian police.

I heard this is very active forum, but no reply yet
Yes this is an active forum. But if people knew the answer, they will post. If they don't , they won't.

Check with your lawyer on how to go about this.

Alren,

Thanks for your kind advice, but sometime people ignore posts and it goes down to the list and nobody reads.

I am not an expert here, but I got my PCC just couple of days back. PCC is Police Clearance Certificate. It's a certificate issued by embassy after verifying with local police that they do not have any record on you. Most people obtain a PCC from nearest Indian embassy, but few people also obtain similar one from Indian police (jurisdiction issued your passport).
Obtaining a PCC from nearest embassy can take anywhere from 8 days to 2 months. I got mine from DC within a week, I dropped my application and passport in person and picked it up next week. I had to pay $40 per application.
I hope this helps. Good luck !

If you are residing in the US, then the US consulate accepts the PCC issued by the Indian consulate in US.

If you are residing in India (or elsewhere) you need to get a PCC(s) from your police jurisdictions.
