PCC from NYCG or India

Hello gurus,
I had my first indian passport issued from Hyderbad, India which I got it renewed from NewYork Consulate last december (2001). I am wondering - do I get my pcc from new york or hyderbad ?

Also, do I need to get PCC from local police station where I went to school in India which is different from where I grew up?

you can get PCC here itself. u\'ll have to either go personally with your passport to apply and later to collect Or you can send your passport by mail and they\'ll send it back. I collected mine last week from Washington CG. It took nearly two months. I don\'t think clearance from local police station is needed.

Hi tapasvi,
Its still a bit confusing. Of the three following bodies, where do we get the PCC\'s:
1. regional passport office in India
2. consulate/embassy in USA
3. Local police stations in India

If you got your passport renewed in the USA, should you be getting pcc from 1 or 2 ?

Are you sure we dont need PCC from 3 ? Hows do you gather this ? Are you going to chennai ?

If you are staying in US presently then one from Indian consulate in US will do, that is #2 in your

 
 
Spouse\'s name in Passport

Hi gurus,
The packet 3 documentation (an included form dated 1992) says, your passports need to reflect your spouse\'s name. Is this required or can be waived as a marriage certificate will be presented anyways ?
