I will be taking PCC In India for my Wife ( who is in India currently).
Do I have to get a PCC from Local Police Station, in addition to PCC from RPO?
I saw postings in the forum that Chennai has asked for PCC from Local Police Station as well.

Is PCC, given by Local Police Station / RPO, a letter or a Stamp in Passport.
 
my case

We were asked by RPO (in India) to get a PCC from local police station and submit to RPO, so they could provide us PCC. When we reached RPO, they said certificate from local police station should be from SP and nothing less than that. So we had to go through another cycle to get it, before RPO gave us cert.

Net, Net- RPO will give PCC only when you have Police clearance from yr nearest SP office. Then onwards, if ou prsent yourself to RPO office, it is a work for few hrs(we took 2 hrs in rest of the proceedings).

In getting PCC from RPO. When I went, I met a very nice guy there who really helped me. I just took a letter from the local police station.
 
PCC from Local Police Station

In my wife\'s case she has a PCC from RPO and also I have a letter from the Cosulate saying they have my Wife\'s PCC.

With the above evidences if I get a PCC from local Police station, is that sufficient.
