PCC for Delhi-continuous 1 year stay?

NVC sent my parents file to US embassy in Delhi on May 10,2005. My parents are trying to get the PCCs organised. However, on reading some posts it seems that for the local police station PCC, the individual should have lived in Delhi for 1 year period continuously. That is not my parents case unfortunately since they were visiting my sister in Singapore during March 2004-November 2004. Will they not be able to get the PCC from local Police Station? What can they do now? Thanks for your response.

Temporary absence from primary residence should not cause any issue while getting PCC.

Why are you thinking that they will have problem? How will they (local PS) come to know?

You don’t need to tell local PS that you were out of country temporarily. Just tell them that you need PCC for US immigration and follow their procedure (if one exists).

PCC in Delhi - Continuous stay

Thanks for responding. The reason I was concerned about the continuous stay was that it seems the PCC app. form mentions a 1 year continuous period. I got this from one of the forums and I am appending the quote here.

Hi thX FOR THE INPUT
how ever if i still would like to get the PCC from Delhi police for my wife ,will they accept if send copy of DS230 part 1 and some other proof which is indicating the purpose of requesting PCC etc... ?
Did any one tried to get like that? (i mean by post or by some other means if u r outside of delhi right now) IF U DID ,COULD U PLEASE POST MORE DETAIL LIKE HOW TO APPROACH ETC...
Appriciated

I attached a copy of DS-2001 (downloaded from the net) along with the PCC application and that was enough for the Delhi police to accept the application.

The point to note here is that, in the PCC application form, it is clearly mentioned that Delhi police will only give the PCC if the person is staying in Delhi for the past one year continuously at the same place. The local police officer will come and verify this fact then only the PCC will be issued.sm_delhi--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
