PCC: Do we need anything from local police if living in the USA?

I have asked for a pc from indian embassy in newyork. do i also need to get a police clearence from the police with jurisidiction over where I live or is the pc from the indian consulate sufficient?

Nor required. They already have your FBI check in place. It takes care of that.

I CALLED CHENNAI CONSULATE YESTERDAY......

I called Chennai consulate and asked the lady the same old question

"Me and my wife have been living in USA for the past 4 years and we are in the process of getting PCC from local consulate in USA, Should we also obtain PCCs from the police station in India?".

SHE SAID NO, IT IS ENOUGH IF YOU HAVE PCC FROM THE INDIAN CONSULATE IN USA........
