PCC details...PLEASE!!!

I need to acquire a PCC from CGNY(for Chennai) and actually browsed this site but got mixed info about the fee.
For the ease of newbie\'s can you GURU\'s put up the steps involved in getting a PCC and post.
Thanks for the help, I think this will be useful for many of them.

The fee for pcc at CGNY is $20. You can pay by cash(only in person)or by moneyorder.

CGNY is $11. I got it recently. They dont charge Telex fee like other consulates in DC.

CGNY has changed its fee structure on wednesday the 2nd Jan from $11 to $20. I applied in person on Jan 2nd. I am not sure if the web site has been updated.

Since you just applied at CGNY could you please post us with all the details?
Like did you go in person and how long did it take to get one?
What are the documents you carried with you?
Can anyone else apply on your behalf?
Which form did you use? http://www.indiacgny.org/misc.pdf or from http://www.immihelp.com - both look a little different.

I used the form from http://www.indiacgny.org/misc.pdf. I took the original and copies of H1/H4 papers, passport and a photo for the form. Both me and my husband went to apply. My husbands passport is deliverd with pcc on the same day as he got his passport renewed her. But for me it will take a month to get pcc clearence as my passport is issued in India.
