Paying Cash in Dollars?

Has anybody paid by cash in US Dollars, rather than DD\'s to the consulate for the IV ($260 and $65)?
If yes, is the consulate strict about what denominations they accept?
Do they take $20, $50 and $100 bills? OR are there restrictions?

Paid in USD at Delhi

I used USD at the Delhi consulate. They are OK about $100 bills.
I would suggest you carry some smaller bills for making the correct amount due. I just had $100 and $20 bills. He took some time and filling in form etc to get me $10 back from his safe. If I had correct change it would have been easier

Can we pay USD in Chennai consulate? I believe they are consistent in policies across all the consulates for the form of payment.

Mumbai consulate does not accept 100$ bills

Met another person in Delhi Consulate who paid by Traveller cheques and if the traveller cheques are not of the right amount the consulate returns to U in USD only .....

The message at the window said something to the effect that you can pay in USD, but we only accept bills upto $50.
