A friend of mine lost all his pay stubs for last three years...he just has the paystubs for last three months....does BCIS ask for paystubs for more than 3 months...

Based on my observation USCIS is asking for pay stubs ranging from two to six months prior to the date any RFE is generated.

If pay stubs are lost normally we can get a copy of the required pay stubs from the employer(s).

Anybody would ask for the latest paystubs of last 3 or 2 months. if it is to proof employment duration then HR of the company can provide a letter of employment.

Last 3 paystubs are good enough.

Does the paystub for last 2 months come as RFE???

So does the requirement for paystubs for the last few months come in as
RFE? My friend was on bench for few months. So will that cause any issues?

Tightwait???

If you don't have all of your paystubs, that's usually not critical if your payroll is handled by a reasonably competent system - there should be a yearly aggregate that can display totals to date.

If you don't have paystubs, your other option is to ask IRS for copies of four 1040 and W-2 summaries for a given year. It may not be what USCIS asked for, but it should provide evidence that you were getting paid.
