I have lived in a college dorm for most of the past 4 years. I moved into different dorms each year, but I have always used the main campus address as my official address, and never filed an AR-11 when moving from one dorm to another.

I also lived in temporary places in the summers near campus, but again never filed an AR-11. I also did not "officially move" during the summer, but lived off-campus since the college dorms were closed. Since I knew that I would move back to college after the summer, I never changed my official address.

How do I fill out the N400? Should I mention that I changed dorms from year to year and that I moved during the summer breaks (did not file AR-11).

Or can I just use ONE SINGLE address for the past 4 years?

Hmm, I think you ought to list your other addresses, but put down in parentheses, after each of those addresses, that you were there for college. Are you applying for citizenship in the district where your parents live?

No, my parents have never been inside the United States. I came here on my own.

But I never filed the AR-11's. What can I do now?

Oh, I see. No worries. Just file your N400 and send in a separate AR11. You're not really in trouble for not updating CIS all this time. So, how did your mail get to you if you used the college's address? Did it go to a central mailbox location? Did you sign leases for all the other places where you lived? Did you ever get mail there, or did all your mail always go to your official address at college? What about for tax purposes?

My school has a centrail mailbox.

I have only received mail in that mailbox for the past 4 years, even during the summer/winter breaks.

Also, I never signed a lease for the places I lived during the breaks. Just paid a few hundred dollars, and crashed on couches.

Again, ONLY ONE address for all official purpose, including tax.

Dont worry it 's not a big deal.
Simply put the adress of the school you were attending, and explain what you told us in case, you are asked to give more details.

Yup, what USC2013 said. If they ask you, you can mention you stayed with friends temporarily during the summers.

What's your story, anyway? How'd you get your GC?

Take a guess.

Also, cafeconleche:

Similar issue with my past employers: My overall employer has been the college I attend; albeit I have worked in different departments - like media services, IT etc. Can I just put down [College] as my employer and explain that I worked in different departments throughout the 4 years in a footnote?

I assume they don't care about the exact dates of past jobs - can't even remember the month(s) for a few jobs I worked off campus.

Take a guess? DV?

Has the college sent you all your paycheques? Anyway, if your positions have differed, go ahead and list them as different jobs, but keep listing the same employer. In the end, it's not REALLY that big a deal.

;) I was lucky enough to win it very early.

This is America son! Cheques are spelled Checks here. Let me guess, you spell donuts as doughnuts?

Honestly, I can't get used to somethings here. Farenheit just does not make sense to me. (By that you can conclude that I am not from Liberia or Burma)

Yeah, all paychecks from the college, not the particular department. I get it though - these things are not a dealbreaker.

Did you get a Private Message from me? I tried to send you one, but I think I sent it to myself.

How exactly do you send PM's on these forums?
