Went to San Jose for passport stamping today morning. Stood in the appointment line. Went in around 7.30 and came out around 8.30.

bodobo,

We also need to go for stamping to San Jose. Whats the address ? Is this the same place where we go for finger printing ?

Is it neccessary to take the notice of approval

Hi Guys,

Is the notice of approval neccessary or should the A number be enough to get the stamping.

Thanks,
Rathnavel

I think it is preferable to wait until you either get the courtesy copy from USCIS or the original from your lawyer before going for stamping. Having come all the way successfully you do not want them to do unnecessary checking and giving you unwanted headaches. A few days wait after you know your case is approved to get one of the above mentioned documents would be a better option.

You also need to have 2 photographs for each applicant when you go for stamping.

Hope this Helps. I am not discouraging you just my 2 cents.

U need to have the approval notice in hand (coutesy copy is enough) to get the stamping done. The documents necessary for stamping will be listed in the approval notice.

The address for stamping is
1887 Monterey Road
San Jose, California 95112
It is different from the finger printing office.

I have a question which might have already been asked somewhere on this forum, but still I would like to ask.

My case got approved and I have still not received the approval notice. I had given the address of my friend from State A and then got it changed to the address of a friend in State B. Our approval notice never reached any of these places. In the mean time my lawyer is sending me his copy (our Approval notice) so that we can get it stamped.

Now my question to many people who got stamped is that did they ask you the address where your Card needs to be sent or does it go to the address where they had sent the approval notice? According to my lawyer they will ask you the address where to send the card, is that true? Please advice.

When you get your passport stamped, ask officer about change of address. While stamping, you need to sign and provide index finger print on both side of a light green A4 size card. There you can write down your current address too (where you want your card to be sent).

They just asked us if there was any change in our address.
