Passport Withdrawal with OCI pending from Travisa NewYork

My son's OCI application is showing printed status on July 4 and we need to travel overseas on July 28. I faxed in the passport withdrawal form yesterday to Travisa NewYork and will resend the passport once we are back to USA...(hopefully the OCI would have arrived by then).

Does anyone have any experience with the passport withdrawal at Travisa NewYork. How long did they take to send the passport once they recieve the withdrawal form?.

----- If OCI status page shows OCI printed July 4 then it may reach Consulate 7 or 8 July and they may update the status on 8 July. You may get ICI Before 28 July.

It typically takes 3-4 ( lesser if lucky ) for docs to be dispatched from Delhi. In my case Docs were printed 29th June, dispatched on 4th July, reached consulate on 6th July. I am in a even stickier position as I am leaving on 17th July. I just spoke to someone in Travisa and they said that the passport is with the consulate and Travisa will let me know when they receive it. One can just hope and pray !! I am not withdrawing the passport as it does not make sense. In your case too as Ginnu said ( and thanks Ginnu for all advice ) you definitely would have had your OCI by 28th July.

One more update. Just got mail from Travisa that OCI was received and mailed out. Now just hoping that it comes in time :)
