My passport is valid upto 09/22/2004 and my visa is valid upto 11/09/2004. I recently travelled overseas and at the time of entry was given an I-94 with validity upto 09/22/2004 since the expiry of passport was prior to expiry of Visa.
At the time of entry the Immigration Officer advised me to get the passport renewed and visit a Local INS office to extend the validity of I-94.
I did not get an extension of the passport for some reason or the other. I have to travel overseas once again for a short period of time (almost immediately) and would return in 10-15 days from now.
Would I face any kind of problems with Immigration at the port of entry ? Or would I be given an I-94 upto the expiry date of the passport ? Would it be advisable to extend my stay overseas and get a fresh passport issued ?
If somebody has encountered such a situation and can share the experience it would help greatly.
Pls post a reply ASAP. I will be looking into some of the replies to make a decision regarding my return date of travel.
