Hi,
My Passport is expiring in 2 years from now. say march 2005
My H1-B Intended employment period is from November 2002 till November 2005.
I am planning to get multiple entry stamp on my passport.
On the website of the US Embassy, for visa documents it states that
"A passport valid for travel to the United States and with a validity date at least six months beyond the applicant's intended period of stay in the United States."
Does this mean that the passport, on the time of stamping, must be valid for 3 years + extra 6 months.
My passport now is only valid for 2.5 years more only .
I called up Indian Embassy, and they informed me that the passport cannot be renewed or extended, if it is still valid for more than a year.
Will this effect my chances of getting Multiple entry stamp on my passport.
Can some one help me with this question? or faced this situation.
Thanks,
Jerry.
