Passport Stamping Questions - Date and Required Docs

1. Does the approval notice specify a fixed date for pp stamping? Or you can go anytime by making InfoPass appointment?

2. I just made an InfoPass appointment, which is 12/23 (Thur) in Philly. But the InfoPass confirmation letter asks "we require you to bring all applicable immigration forms, letters, receipts, translations and originals of supporting documents". Has anybody been asked for all the originals? I only see people here mention about I-94, EAD, AP, etc. to surrender, nothing more.

My birth certificate is missing and needs to be replaced, but that'll take some time. If I can do stamping anytime, no problem. If there's a stamping deadline or fixed date, can I get stamping without all the originals?

Thanks!

Once you receive the notice, Just make an appt by infopass and go there.
I got my stamping done yesterday without any problem.

you need these docs for sure:

Passport
I-94
2 Photos new style
EAD
AP
Info Pass Notice
I-485 Approval Notice.

But Keep these too in the bag:

SSN card
H1B copies
Drivers License

and you are done ..

Thanks GCC!

Do you have to go the the office specified on the approval notice, or just any office? I moved from NJ to PA but they still sent FP notice for Newark ASC.

My lawyer asked us to carry proof of residency, any utilility bill would be fine.

My passport expires in 6 months, so they issued the temporary stamp till passport expiry date, for my spouse they issued it for an year (her passport is valid for next 10 years). I guess the cards will arrive in 6 months, so nothing to worry about.

joyd.

oh, boy,

I just asked you a ppt expiration question in another thread, and you gave the answer almost simutaneously here. Are you reading my mind?

Ok, looks like I'll get a temp stamp good until mid-Jan (if at all). Then stuck until the GC arrives. Probably I can bear with that.
