Passport Stamping in Newark- Changes

I got my passport stamped in Newark today.

There seemed to be changes (from what I knew) in the setup at Newark INS office.

I went straight to the Room 334 as mentioned in the Approval Notice, they said the passports are stamped on Fridays now, I was surprised. I asked the lady at the counter to confirm with a supervisor and she came back with other answer, "Goto Room at Second Floor next to Cafeteria."

I went there and stood in the line, the person there looked at my documents and gave me a number (waiting number) and asked me to goto room 1034 (10th Floor). At room 1034, they took my photos and finger print etc and my passport was stamped.

The whole process took less than an hour, but I could have saved some time if I knew the new setup.

Cheers

jog1, details please...

Jog1, can u please provide details of

1) the documents you need to take with u for stamping.

2) the detailed steps in order which occur during stamping process (eg., FingerPrinting, filling out forms, stamping)

3) What all forms do u need to fill up at the INS office when u go for stamping?

Thanks in advance!

The Documents I took were

1. Original Approval notuce (from my attorney)
2. 2 Recent Photos
3. Passport (with 1-94)

My H-1 is still valid so I didn't have any Advance Parole docs, but they asked for it. They asked for EAD too, but I didn't have it with me at that time, and they said that's fine.

I didn't have to fill any form. They took my index finger print and asked me to sign on a form.

And that was it, the only question they asked me was what my Date of Birth is.

Hope this helps.
Good Luck
