Last Wednesday me and my wife walked in to the INS office at 7:00am.
We were all set at 7:25. Officer was very nice and polite (for a change).
Right after we went to Canada just to try new temporary green cards and made it back with no problems.
Good luck you everyone waiting.

What documents were you asked to show?

Was there a big line? Could you have walked in late (say 10AM)
and still got the stamping done the same day?

Only passports, I-94s, 2 pictures and I485 approval letter.
While I was waiting I saw only 3 more couples with the similar
cases. There is special window dealing just with approvals.
I think once you\'ll get there, they will take care of you.

I hope this helps.
Good luck!!!

Another passport stamping in DETROIT took place today when me & my wife visited INS Detroit around 9:00 AM.
I took the courtesy copies of 485 approval, (as still haven\'t heard from my lawyer). Our names were called after
almost half an hour of wait. The immigration officer asked for photos, passport, I-94, EAD card & travel payroll.
She didn\'t ask anything else & appeared very friendly & polite. The whole stamping process took less than 10
minutes. On way back on Detroit\'s famous I-75, the construction barrels, traffic back ups & the sweating heat
never felt so great. Good luck to everybody.

By travel payroll, do you mean Advance Parole(AP)?

Did they ask you to surrender your previous H1 documents?

Did they ask you for an employment letter?

Thank you very much.

yes I meant Advance Parole (AP), & not travel payroll, sorry for the typo. The officer didn\'t ask for the parole in particular but rather asked if INS issued me any card or documentation since filing 485.

No, she didn\'t ask for H1 but I was carrying them to be on the safe side.

I did not carry the employment letter but rather kept the most recent paystub to prove my employment. She didn\'t ask anything regarding my employment though.

Hope this helps.
