My wife and I got our approval notice on May 25th (Friday). We are asked to come to
San Jose Office for stamping the passport anyday Mon-Thu 7.30am-11.00 am, within
30 days of approval (May 21st). We decided to go on May 30th, since May 28th was
a holiday and we thought on May 29th lot of people will be on the line. We went around
5.00 am. We were atleast behind 400 people.. Around 7.00 am., line started moving.
Around 10.00 am, announcement was made : "Please come tomorrow".
We were disappointed. Next day (May 31) We went around 2.00 am. We were
atleast behind 200 people. Around 7.00, line started moving. We got into the office around
9.00 am. Around 10.00 am our number was called. Within 10 minutes we were out.
Thanks everyone for helping out in this board. Our advise is:

Please reach the San Jose office atleast around 2.00 am. Be sure to take all
I-94s (if you have multiple VISAs), Adavance Parole, EAD, Approval notice
Passport and 2 photos.(I heard that some officers also ask for I-140 approval)
Take your own chair/sleeping bag..!

Is it standard that you have to get PP stamped within 30 days of approval notice. What if you are not able to do so within 30 days (like family in India on vacation for more than a month)

Thanks

Do you have any idea about how to track subsequent progress it we get the plastic card.

I called up CSC number and entered I-485 approval number. It only says that the case is approved.

Any idea about the way of tracking this info?
