As mentioned earlier, never talked to an IIO. Just checked the AVM regularly.
Arrived at Albany INS at 8.15 am. There were only 3 people at the lobby. Only mine was a 485 stamping case. Called within 10 mins. Gave the I-94, Approval Notice (Courtesy Copy), Passport and 2 ADIT pictures each. The office stamped our passports. She noted the H1 approval notices in my hand and so, she asked me to give any INS papers I have. Gave the latest H1 approval notice, EAD and AP. (Why keep them since the passport is stamped?). Signed the Form and she took my fingerprint. The whole process took less than 10 mins!
When I left, there was no one else at the lobby. Folks, if anyone wants to try out stamping at Albany, NY, it may be a good idea! Only if you don’t mind staring at those empty seats!!
