Passport Stamping Details

What are the documents we need to take when we go for stamping and do we need to take an appointment in local INS office for passport stamping , After approval what was the time frame for stamping , If any body knows the details please post I would appreciate.

No need to take appointments. The stamping letter will specify the time and date most of the ASCs entertain such stamping. Once you get the approval notice, check the relevant ASC or the one where you want to go.

Picture ID(to get in), I94s, EADs, APs need to be surrendered (they'll just trash it, so dont worry about any missing docs)

You have to get it stamped within a year of approval.

Is it necessary to get the passport stamped or is it just if you need to travel before your actual GC.

Can I go to local BCIS office to do stamping or the other office ? What's ASCs ? When do we go to social security office to update my social security card ? Can I go there before stamping passport or It has to be done after stamping ? Please share your experience and thoughts.
