passport stamped

Guys,
I went to INS office and they stamped my passport for "temporarily" permanent residency valid for a year. Officer told me that if i do not get my green card within a year, I have to go to INS again and they will extend this period.

AD :06/2004

I got my pasport stamped today too in San Jose.
They said I should get my card i 6 to 8 months.

Any on recently (within a month) got their pasport stamped in Chicao. If so can you give details when did he/she go and how long did it take. One of my friend is planning to go next week.

Congratulation! After 2 year of tracking your I485, you need to start tracking your plastic card now. :D
