Reached JFK building at 7:10AM
Entered Building at 7:30AM (Security check was very slow)
Got the numer (ticket) at 7:50 AM C414
Got Fingerprint on form at the desk in the lobby
Got the Photographs for $10
Thought of going to work for an hour or so as they had not even started C 401 but decided against it.

While the display crawled to 405 A lady Anounced 410 at booth 1
and then for some reason jomped to 414... good that I stayed.

Handed over passport,Origional approval Notice and photographs
She asked for
EAD card, Travel documents... gave those.

She put a stamped on my passport, wrote my A# and exp date on the stamp and said

"This is your Green Card until we mail you one."

Got out at 8:45

It was a breeze... better than I had expected

Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for sharing your experience in Boston!

Congradulations again!

How many photo you are asked to bring? Are them the same requirement as the EAD pic or same as the passport photos?

That helped since I will have to go for my stamping soon to the Boston INS office ( got approved, but m waiting for the approval letter to reach me..)

Thanks,

How long does it take for the letter to arrive these days ?
I was approved on May 1st and have not got the letter yet.

You can get the photos at the INS office (yes Inside E160) for $10

I got my notice within 15 days, had filed AR11 twice (within same state)

I also got the approval notice. But if I look at the notice carefully, the notice doesn't ask me to bring the EAD and Travel documents, it says "please take this notice, your Arrival/Departure Record, Form I-94, your passport, and two ADIT style color phots meeting the specification listed below, to the local INS office listed below to have your fingerprint and signature taken on form I-89, and otherwise complete processing for your Alien Registration Card".

My questions:
1) why you should bring the EAD and Travel documents while they are not required in the notice?
2)why people call this process "passport stamping" while the INS notice never mentions the "stamping" (it only says to complete processing for your Alien Registration Card. Is the passport stamping still another process after the completion of the Alien Registration Card.
3)did you make an appointment beforehand? I want to wait for my wife who is still not approved. Is there any time requirement that I must do the Alien Registration Card (or stamping) within some days after receiving the approval notice?

Thank you.
