Passport stamped at INS, Newark yesterday (Oct 4 00)

Friends,

Today reached INS office at Newark around 6:45 AM. Stood in line for maybe 45 minutes, before everyone was allowed inside. It appears everyone was allowed into the building from same entrance, unlike what I was given an impression from the earlier postings, that people entered through more than one entrance.
FYI:Understood from an officer that Room# 334 (this is the room mentioned in the letter) is closed for next two weeks.

Slowly, by 7:30 AM, everyone was allowed into building. Before, entering into the building an officer checked, if our approval notice has \'Wednesday\' with timings like 8 AM - 12 Noon. Please go to INS on the day mentioned in your letter. If you don\'t have it, maybe you can go anyday (only my guess not a suggestion). After entering into building, had the security check done and all of us lined up in some room, where another officer took our I-94, photos, EAD put them in an envelope, issued a token and returned everything back to us, directed us to room#135. We sat there along with everyone. There were like 8 to 9 booths. Another officer called in the order of the token number, took finger print of Index finger, had us sign couple of times on another form (I think i-89, mentioned in the letter), gave everything back to us. We were back to our seats, waiting to hear the final call of stamping. By 9\'0 clock, me and my wife were called at two different booths and the officers stamped the passport giving us all the freedom we have been looking for. My wife was not asked even a single question, officer stamped and congratulated my wife. Officer for me asked me to show valid photo id, that\'s it. We were at booths for approximately 5-7 minutes. Came out happy and in great joy.

We went with our courtesy copies, and it was fine. It appeared they don\'t even look at it.

Anyhow, this is my detailed report. I am sorry if you feel these details were Unnecessary. Did not mean to take your time.

PD:2/96, RD/ND 4/99, Approved 9/22/00, Received the copy in mail on 9/29/00. EB3, India. NO REF, Called IIO 4 times.

Thanks
