Passport stamped 9/12

A quick update.


Got the passport stamped for 1 year yesterday at Arlington, VA. The whole process took two hours including waiting time (actually, time spent with the officer at the counter was less than 10 minutes).


The only pain in the butt (though miniscule compared to long GC wait) was 175miles one way up North drive to Arlington.

Left home at 3.45 in the morning and wading thru the 6.30AM DC traffic on I-66, was at the INS office by 7.15AM.

Question:

How long is it taking to get the actually Plastic card? The INS
officer said b/w 9-12 months.

Yesterday, besides two photos, he took my signature and finger print (twice) on form I-551. Is that all needed for ordering the card?

I'll apprceiate ur comments.

Plastic Card will be ordered within 4 weeks of stamping. The Card itself will have both your photo and your index finger print on them, that is why they take those. They might be taking it twice just to make sure they get atleast one good print to put on the card.
