Passport Stamp after the Interview for Greencard

Hi all,

I am applying for Greencard through my wife. She is US citizen. I was H-1 before so it is an adjustment of status. I got called for fingerprinting and interview.

The INS person interviewed us but didn't stamp the passport. She told us that they weren't stamping passport temporarily in New York City and she would call us back as soon as they resume that. It has been almost a month and I haven't heard anything.
If anybody has any info or similar experience I would greatly appreciate it.

I don't want to upset you but...

my friend was called for interview in NY city on June 12 and he got his passport stamped right away. It was an employment based case though.
