Passport renewed/Visa in old passport

I am posting this for my friend. He just renewed his indian passport as it had expired. His H1 visa and I-94 in the old passport are valid till april 2005. Does he have to notify INS or get some kind of stamping from them to acknowledge the new passport?

Staple the new passport with old passport and keep both the passports attached, you may have to show both the PP when you re-enter US, no need to inform anybody

i had similar situation and has visa valid till may2005.

i traveled back and forth to india.No one asked a thing..I
changed my employer too....

immigration officials know these...
