Passport renewal

I currently live in TN and want to renew my passport. However, I only own a MI driver's license and no other photo IDs from TN. On the Dept of State website, it implies that a credit card can be used as a 2nd ID. Can anybody confirm this?
If not, are there any other documents that can act as the 2nd ID?

Are you eligible to renew by post? Check out this link http://travel.state.gov/passport/forms/ds82/ds82_843.html You won't need any ID apart from your expired passport. Even if you submit the application in person, your current passport will suffice as ID.
