Passport renewal (expires Jan 08 - visa 2011)

While i'm here i may as well add all my problems LOL

My current passport runs out in January 2008 but my Visa inside doesnt run out until May 2011. Can i get a new passport and visa in the US or do i have to go back to the UK. If i get a new passport will my visa card be transfered over. Does anyone know the drill?

I have been through this situation.

Passport can be renewed while in US. However visa will remain on the old passport. You will have to carry both passports for immigration/visa purposes.

This does not cause any issue. USCIS/INS understands this.
