Folks,
My kids (aged 14 & 16) indian passports were expired April 2008. I somehow found that now. I will be applying for myself and wife USCS in Dec. 2009. Not sure, if I have to apply for the kids Indian passports now or wait until few months so that they get their US passport anyway.

Thanks in advance.

They don't have to have current indian passports to apply for citizenship, the only reason you would want to re-new their passports is if you are planning on traveling there before getting your citizenship.

No issues at all :). When you become US citizens, your kids will become US citizens automatically if they are under 18. Their Indian passports are not required when applying for US passports. When you apply for OCI or PIO and get "granted" status, just send Indian passport for cancellation and US passports for stamping visas.

If your kids need to travel and you or your wife are not US citizens yet, then you have to renew your kids' Indian passports.
