Passport question

I have a concern before submitting my application to USCIS.
My spouse is a US citizen who will be petitioning for me. I came to the US at age 20 years under passport X issued by country X which had a condition that I renounce Citizenship of my birth country (Y) after I reach the age of 21 years, as I was a minor when it was issued.

I decided not to renounce my Citizenship of my birth country and got a new passport for country Y. The concern for me is that I came to the US in passport X which has now expired and had my Visa and I94 on it. My current valid passport is from country Y and I will be filing my application as a Citizen of Y. I am now 27 years. My birth certificate is from country Y.

Would this cause complications with USCIS? I hope all of this makes sense

:) I know it is clear as mud.

Basically what I want to know is this:

I will be filing my application under a passport that is different from the one I entered the US with. Would this be a problem?

Use passport X for your forms, even if it has expired. It has all of the information pertaining your visa and I-94 attached to it, and USCIS needs that information, plus it is what is in your record.

For practical purposes, if you are to travel later on, using AP or your GC... You can use passport Y then. I went through the same situation and had no problem going through it.

I am not a Citizen of Country X, do I need any affidavits to explain the situation? I want to make sure every thing is in order before submitting.

They need the passport you used to enter the USA. That is it... you no longer will need to use that passport for anything, you can present the "Y" passport at the Biometrics and Interview for all they care.

They just want to verify your legal entry into the USA.

Stop worrying.

Thank you for your responses...truly appreciated.:)
