Passport not stamped

Hello,

I am a US Citizen and today my spouse had the Green Card interview. The officer approved her Green Card (told 2 to 3 times clearly) but did NOT stamp on her passport. He also mentioned that she will get an GC Approval notice (Welcome mail) in the mail within 1 week and get the actual physical Green Card in 2 weeks.

He said that if she needs to travel before the arrival of the Green Card, she can use her Advance Parole to enter USA.

He took her EAD and said that she will not be needing that anymore and was very pleased with all the documents what we submitted.

I would like to know if this is a normal occurrence where the Passport is NOT stamped.

Can she travel while waiting for the welcome mail. Please Suggest!

It is normal. Just enjoy the moment and take easy.

Let us know more about the interview and don't forget to post when you receive you card.

Congratulations!

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, she is travelling somewhere around end of July 2008 and will come back to US in 2 weeks which is an official travel from her work.

Nice to hear that it is normal occurence.

krona12345 - Do you know of anybody who is in the same situation at this moment or earlier? She is really worried at this moment since taking an Infopass appointment now is too early.

I remember people here in the room going to the same process of not getting the Stamp after the interview. Later they came back saying that everything went fine and they have the green card for good.

If the guy said your interview went fine, I would not worry about to much at this point.

Again

Have fun and don't worry
