passport lost

I've lost my passport and I am about to apply for my I-140. WIll it affect the process? Can I appy for I-140 with copies of my old passport while waiting for the new passport?

I don't think you need copies of passport for filing I-140.

I guess it should not be a problem as you dont need your passport during the process.

I dont know whether you require your passport during fingerprinting process as I have not yet reached that stage.

If you ever need a copy of your passport, it's for the valid date, H1 stamp, I-94, etc. Do you have those in the old passport?
