Hi,

I have sent my passport for H1 revalidation on Sept 30 '03. Last week I phoned them and came to know that my passport has been mailed back to me on Jan 13, 04 which I haven't recieved till date.
I called again and all they have to say they will mail me a letter stating that my passport has been lost. I am really confused. Please guide me with your valuable suggestions........

Thank you

did you include a fedex return envelope ? do you have the tracking no ? or did you want it return by regular mail. How did the DOS send it back to you ?????

No offense to sg70.

But reminds me of a colleauge who wanted to save money so sent the p/p by US ordinary mail, guess what happened ...

Just a wild chance, Contact yr. congressman/senator/state senator's office. They might be able to help.

Did seem to make a difference for another colleague of mine. DOS would'nt tell him where's the p/p.

Thanks,

I have sent fedex return envelop and I do have tracking no.
But fed ex is unable to loacte anything with tacking no.
And dept of state unable to say how they sent it. All they say they sent it back to me. period.

Contact congressman/senator/state senator's or call the state dept and ask to speak to a supervisor(not sure if that will help)

Supervisor thing didn't work - I have tried that.

How should I contact congressman etc. Please advise in detail.

No idea.

Use the web to find your respective official. I'm sure you will find details on her/his contact info.

Please guide me!!

Nothing worked out and I end up making a new passport. Now what should I do next?
The info I have if your visa is lost of damaged within a year when you revalidation visa was approved, revalidation center will issue a new visa within 7-10 working days. Is this correct??
Now, my confusion is:

(1) where to send it - St. Louis or Washigton DC.
(2) Do I have to pay fee again
(3) Do I have to mention something specific on my letter. At the site its mentioned if you name print wrong on visa etc, please metion 221g on envelop. Any suggestions......

Please reply at the earliest.

Thank you in advance.

HI,

I am facing a similar issue.I have sent my p/p for revalidation on Nov 5, 2003. When I spoke to Visa specialist about status, she said it was sent back to me on Feb 5 asking for some more documentation and a new photo by UPS, which was I believe sent back to Dept. of State because no body could sign for it.

But, I did not receive it ever or any UPS notice put at my door. Infact, there is no activity on that UPS Tracking Number. UPS says that they are sure the State did not use that UPS return airway bill.

The Visa specialist also said that they mailed it by regular US MAIL to the address they have on the application on Feb 20th.

I am just hoping I have that in my mail by today.

If I do not receive the P/P or in the event its lost (not to sound pessimistic) what steps should I take?

All the help in this regard is very much appreciated.

Thanks
Vijay

Hi,

I just wanted to say that I did receive my P/P by US Mail. It was sent to my Office address (the company holding my H1B address)

Thanks
Vijay

P.S: I will be using FEDEX only going forward.

Miracles never cease ... :D

Might want to apply for a fedex a/c no and use that to put it on the airbills. (If you don't want your cc no. )
