Passport Fees..

I applied for the Passport Book & Card and expedited service at the Union County Clerk's Office, NJ on 8/1/08. Received passport book on 8/6/08.

Following is the fees I paid via checks.

$149.85 US State Department-- Passport Fee.
$41.50 Execution Fee

This does not match with the fees mentioned on the website
http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/fees/fees_837.html

Any body who can make sense of the total fees paid..

The online status on the website says that I have applied for PP Book and Card and also expedited service.

Thanks

Hi pancpgc -

The breakdown of your application should have looked like this:

Passport booklet fee: $75
Passport card fee: $20
Expedite fee: $60
================
Total to US State Dept: $155.00

--> If you opted to send it overnight then you would have added the delivery charges separately.

Execution fee (paid to the Clerk's Office): $25.00

Seems like they charged you for express or overnight delivery since you paid $41.50 which is right because overnight service via USPS is $16.50.

I'm not sure why you paid $5.50 less for the booklet and card though. What I listed above are prices from the State Dept's website and are what I paid when I applied - except I added an extra $14.85 to the US State Dept's check for overnight return.

Did you make a mistake and mean your check to the State Dept was $169.85? If so then that is what I paid as well.

I just paid whatever the clerk asked me to..

I just paid whatever the clerk asked me to... She specified the amount for both the checks.. Thats the reason for the confusion.

I (assume) calculate the the US State Dept fees as:
Passport Book $75 + Expedite Fee $60 + Overnight Delivery $14.95 = $149.95.

Dont know why $41.5 for execution?

Spouse and Son received passport book and card

Spouse and Son received passport book and card
PP Applied on 9/6 regular processing.
PP Book received on 9/17
Natz Certificate received on 9/18
PP Card received on 9/19

Called NPIC for my PP Card. They are saying that they have not received money for PP Card. I have to re-apply for the PP Card. I can apply directly in mail using DS-82 and $20 fee directly to the State Department. This requires the PP Book to be sent with the application.
